The Manuel Antonio National Park put us on the map.
While the park is one of Costa Rica's smaller parks, it is the most visited because of it's unmatched beauty, soft white sand beaches, amazing biological diversity and abundance of wildlife.
Costa Rica has:
•
230+ species of mammals
• more varieties of butterflies than the entire continent of Africa
• 150+ species of reptiles and amphibians
• 1,800+ species of orchids
• 850+ species of birds
With the $7 entrance fee, you can spend all day roaming through the rain forest, watching the animals, or relaxing on one of the several beaches. You can also hire a guide that will help you spot animals along the main walking path.
Make sure you bring water and/or food as none are sold in the park.
The park and beaches are just a few minutes walk from either home.
